Bipash Basu was born on January 7, 1979 in New Delhi to aBengali family. She has two sisters and her elder sister name Bidisha and younger one is Vijayeta. She born in New Delhi but they moved to Kokata and lived there. As she stated in an interview, she planned to study medicine, entered modelling and acting by accident. Till the 12th standard she studied science at Bhavan's Gangabux Konoria Vidyamandir and then studied commerce at the bhwanipur gujarati education society college. She sat for the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest as suggested by the model Mehr Jessica and won it. This is where her life changed.
